Get to know our team members.

Lew started Harvest Time in 1974 in a small shop on Waterstreet in Augusta. He wanted to be able to offer some healthy options for the community such as tofu that could not be found at the time at the local grocery store. Four years later they moved to a larger location in the Capitol Shopping Center where they remained for 25 years.

In 2003 they moved just down the hill to their current location on Capitol Street.  When Lew is not in the store he can often be found birding and spending time with his wife Karen.

Tammy started working for Harvest Time as a part time employee and then joined the team full time. She is our grocery buyer along with ordering some of our largest vitamin companies.

Her cat Sassy keeps her on her toes and she loves to go cheer her grandchildren on at their many sporting events.

Mia joined our team as a part-time employee while she was working for the State of Maine. She quickly realized that she loved working at the store and became a full-time employee. Mia used to handle the ever-growing spice rack and vitamin companies like Avena Botanicals, Nordic Naturals and New Chapter.

 Mia retired from full time, but she can be found here on Saturdays helping customers and still doing a few orders. Mia and her husband Basil are also talented artists, you can find some of their pieces here at the store.

Hillary started working for Harvest Time as a high school student. She continued to work during her college breaks and decided to stay with us full-time after she graduated. She now is in charge of ordering produce, frozen foods, cosmetics and some vitamin companies.

You can also find her behind her camera as she owns and operates Hillary Rae Photography.

Lina started part time at our Western Avenue location and then came on full time when Java Joes closed on Water Street. She manages our large bulk food selection including our bulk spice wall that has over 200 items.

Lina also orders tea, vitamins and a lot of our great gift items. Lina loves to hike the many mountains in Maine with her husband Sean during warmer weather.

Once a full-time employee of Harvest Time she now works for the State of Maine but still comes in on Saturdays to help us to stay on top of all the packaging.

When not at work you will often find her knitting or learning a new language. Working with Mia inspired her to learn Norwegian.

Rianna came to work at Harvest Time after the CVS just below our current location closed. She quickly became a valued team member as she does a little bit of everything stocking, packaging, ordering and running the register.

Rianna has found a love of cooking as she is often the first one of us to try the latest viral recipe.

Sara joined our team in September of 2021 after being a manager of American Eagle. She is a certified holistic health coach as well as being a certified yoga and reiki instructor. You will often find Sara behind the register or up front helping customers find just the right product.

Sara loves to hang out with her daughters whether it’s at a concert, the beach or on a trail with her dog Millie.

Tia joined us this past summer after working for Joanne fabrics. She grew up using lots of homeopathic medicine so she is very familiar with a lot of the remedies. 

On her days off she can often be found tending her chickens and other pets.

Sam just joined us this fall as a part time employee. She can often be found behind the register or packaging.

Sam has a 7 month old puppy, Ivy who takes up most of her time when she is not working.
